The Ministry of Planning confirmed, yesterday, Friday, that a census of nomadic Bedouins will be conducted in 5 governorates .
The Deputy Head of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority at the Ministry, Maki Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, said that “the Ministry has taken several preliminary measures regarding nomadic Bedouins, including implementing the census and numbering process,” noting that “the census of this group was conducted in five governorates where they are concentrated, namely Najaf Al-Ashraf, Al-Muthanna, Nineveh, Anbar and Dhi Qar .”
He added that “the process of counting the nomadic Bedouins was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Border Ports Authority by sending researchers and preparing special vehicles for movement in desert areas,” noting that “the enumerators recorded complete information about the nomadic Bedouins.”
