The Popular Mobilization Forces said in a statement: “The Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a three-pronged security operation in conjunction with army units and security services in southeastern Mosul .”

She added, “The operation involved the Operations and Intelligence Command departments, the Support Mobilization Authority directorates, the brigades of the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, represented by the 30th, 58th, and 59th Brigade, the Iraqi Army units, and the local police .”

She continued, “The operation included raiding, searching and combing areas of Al-Hawi villages in the Nimrud district, southeast of the city of Mosul, and verifying information, with the aim of searching for wanted persons, as part of the security plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein .”
