Yesterday, Tuesday, Nineveh Provincial Council held its first session after a boycott and disruption that lasted for about 3 months, due to the political crisis that struck the council against the backdrop of the vote on the heads of administrative units .

Nineveh Provincial Council member for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ahmed Al-Kiki, said: The holding of the 18th session today does not mean the end of the disagreements within the council regarding the file of appointing and replacing heads of administrative units .

Al-Kiki pointed out that “the council held its first session today after a hiatus of about 3 months, but holding sessions does not mean accepting what happened previously regarding Nineveh’s future monopolization of the decision of the heads of administrative units .”

He added that the participation came in order to vote on social benefits because they are in the interest of Nineveh and cannot be postponed, and to vote on the formation of the audit committee for the mukhtars in order to vote on them .

The session comes after the end of the boycott of the sessions by the United Nineveh and Kurdistan Democratic blocs, which was taken 3 months ago, due to the vote of the Future Nineveh bloc on the decision to replace and appoint the heads of 20 administrative units in Nineveh .

Although the United Nineveh and Democratic blocs entered today’s session, indicators confirm that the differences are still ongoing and have not been resolved regarding the issue of administrative units .

26 members out of 29 members attended the session, while three members were absent.
