Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil announced significant progress in the completion rates of the Mosul Airport project.

During his visit to the airport and inspection of the work there, Al-Dakhil said that the work at the airport has achieved an advanced rate in the construction field as well as the installation of navigational devices, indicating that 30 percent of the navigational devices have arrived in Mosul and have begun to be installed. He indicated that the rest of the devices are present at Baghdad Airport and Ibrahim Al-Khalil Port and are on their way to Mosul Airport to be installed soon, while he expected the airport to be completed early next year 2025. Al-Dakhil noted that the Mosul Airport project is the first in Iraq to be funded from local government budgets.

The governor of Nineveh stressed the determination of the local government in Nineveh to complete the work at Mosul Airport despite the difficulties that hindered the work .

Al-Dakhil confirmed that the airport has become a reality on the ground and that its management will not be lenient or slow in implementing it on the specified date despite attempts by some parties to limit the progress of the work. He also pointed out that the airport project has overcome the political, legal and financial challenges that caused the delay in work on the project.
