Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil announced yesterday , Sunday, that the closing date of the checkpoints and entrances to the city of Mosul (the governorate center) will be according to the dates specified by the Ministry of Interior .

Al-Dakhil denied what was circulated on some social media sites about the date of closing the checkpoints before starting the population census process .

Al-Dakhil said, “The checkpoints at the entrances to Mosul will be closed in preparation for conducting the population census and entering into an administrative curfew .”

He added, “The curfew and closure of checkpoints will be in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Interior from 12 midnight on Tuesday to Wednesday .”

The Iraqi authorities decided to impose a curfew on the 20th and 21st of November, coinciding with the comprehensive census process.
