MOSUL TIME RA

Nearly 3 years have passed since the completion of the construction of Al-Falah Bridge, which connects Al-Falah neighborhoods to Al-Siddiq neighborhood on the left side of the city of Mosul.

The Nineveh Roads and Bridges Directorate announced about 3 years ago that the company executing the project to construct the Al-Falah Bridge on the Al-Khusar River had completed the project , but the bridge has not yet entered service due to the lack of paths for the bridge on either side of it.

One of the citizens from the second Al-Falah neighborhood, Obaida Al-Lahibi, says that the bridge is of great importance in reducing the traffic jam at the Banks and Al-Sukar intersections, as its opening will absorb a large portion of the traffic traffic there, but the bridge has turned into a “imaginary bridge” as he described

He explained that the problem facing the bridge is the lack of paths on both sides of the bridge due to the presence of housing associations, commenting by saying, “Government departments did not take into account the problem of constructing the bridge from the beginning, as housing associations existed years before the bridge, and now state departments cannot solve the problem.”

While another citizen named “Omar Muhammad” adds that he and his family are now living in constant anxiety, as the municipality directorate informed them of the removal of their house because it is located on the path of the bridge, while he confirmed that the Mosul municipality, despite its announcement of the issuance of a judicial order to compensate those affected, no measures have been taken. An official decision has not been taken yet, as Omar cannot dispose of the house and is awaiting a government decision that will do justice to him and his counterparts who were affected, he said.

The Mosul Municipality announced 3 months ago the issuance of a judicial decision to compensate those affected with sums of money and residential plots of land.
