The head of Nineveh Provincial Council, Ahmed Al-Hasoud, confirmed that the differences between the political forces in the council over the session to select the heads of administrative units are on their way to being resolved. Al-Hasoud pointed out that resolving the issue of the heads of administrative units requires consensus between the blocs, noting that consensus is close to being achieved, despite the existence of unresolved differences regarding some paragraphs.
For his part, Nineveh Council member from the Unified Nineveh Bloc, Ahmed Al-Abd Rabbah, confirmed that his bloc entered the council session because it believes that it is illogical to continue the boycott and not hold sessions on the subject of social benefits, which would exploit an amount of $30 million from the oil production in the Qayyarah fields in the file of supporting the health and education sectors, stressing that the dispute between the political forces regarding the subject of administrative units has not yet been fully resolved.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Nineveh Council had previously announced that holding the session did not mean the end of the differences regarding the file of heads of administrative units.
