Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani returned to the capital, Baghdad, after a short visit to Jordan, during which he met with King Abdullah II .

Al-Sudani’s surprise visit came amid the rapidly evolving events in the region, especially a few days after the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria by armed opposition factions.
