The government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced About a set of important decisions to boost the local economy, as new prices were set for wheat produced in Iraq.

The new prices came to support farmers. He indicated that the price of a ton of wheat produced from lands that use modern irrigation systems reaches 850 thousand dinars, while the price of a ton for lands that use traditional irrigation methods will be 800 thousand dinars .

The government also decided, during the cabinet session held today, to increase Iraq’s share in the International Monetary Fund by an amount equivalent to 831.9 million SDR , which contributes to raising Iraq’s voting power and strengthening its financial position on the international scene .

In a move to boost economic development, the statement said the government has launched a project to establish a new industrial city in Basra Governorate (the far south of the country), aiming to boost investments and provide job opportunities, which will contribute to driving the national economy forward.
