Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader al-Dakhil revealed on Monday that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani will visit the governor soon, while reassuring the residents that Iraqi forces have imposed complete control over the border with Syria .
Al-Dakhil said, “Al-Sudani will visit Nineveh in the coming days to follow up on important projects in the province, including the ring road project in Mosul, which is experiencing some procrastination and delay .”
Regarding the security situation in Nineveh, Al-Dakhil confirmed that “security is stable and under the full control of the Iraqi forces,” noting that “the Iraqi forces from the army, federal police, border guards, and popular mobilization are controlling the borders with the Syrian side .”
He stressed that “there is no need to fear any security breaches or threats in Nineveh .”
This comes in conjunction with the escalation of events and security disturbances in Syria, and the Iraqi leadership taking measures to secure the borders in anticipation of any emergency.
