Oglu expected that “Fidan’s visit to Iraq will not be limited to Baghdad, but he may also head to Erbil, because Turkey wants to launch a comprehensive war on the PKK in northern Syria, so he wants to coordinate with Baghdad first and then with Erbil .”

The Turkish political analyst concluded that “the visit may include opening several files in addition to intelligence coordination, including the Syria file and the development path, as well as following up on the implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries during Fidan’s last visit .”

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party has its stronghold in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys .
