Shop and workshop owners in the Qasr al-Mutran area on the right side of Mosul appealed to the local authorities to reverse the decision to evacuate the workshops and move to the industrial area.
The workshop owners called on the officials to allow them to stay in the area and not cause harm to their livelihood, as they put it. They pointed out that the Mosul Municipality informed them of the decision to evacuate those shops and move to the industrial area.
Mosul Municipality has been working for months to reorganize the city according to the areas and uses designated for them, after the past years witnessed the urban distortion of the areas through the opening of many industrial workshops within the city’s residential neighborhoods.
