The Border Forces Command announced the receipt of night vision devices for detecting infiltration operations and controlling the borders .

Border Forces Commander Lieutenant General Mohamed Abdel Wahab Sakr said, “There is work between the International Centre for Migration Policy Development at the Border Forces Command and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development in the European Union, which includes informing the command of the experience of advanced countries in border control through completing the integrated management of international borders, holding courses for members and officers of the directorate, and establishing risk management programmes .”

He added, “The command received today a batch of equipment that will contribute to the accurate inspection of night vision devices for detecting radioactive elements, which will be used by the Customs Police fighters at the border crossings.”

He pointed out that “there is an effort by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development in the European Union to develop international institutions to carry out their tasks, and multiple programmes to develop the capabilities of the Border Forces Command,” explaining that “the efforts of the International Centre will result in providing the command with advanced expertise to reduce infiltration and control the borders .”

For his part, the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Thomas Seiler, said: “We have been working for a long time with the Iraqi side to develop mechanisms, control and protect the Iraqi borders,” he said, noting that “the support was provided through our implementing partners in the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, in the European Union .”

He added, “The Border Guard Command praised the success of the efforts and cooperation with the International Centre in the European Union.”
