The leader of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world, Louis Sako, said that Iraq has lost two-thirds of its Christians due to conflicts and wars.

Sako added in a statement that “it is unfortunate that the Middle East is suffering from the scourge of conflicts and wars, as we see in Palestine, Lebanon, and currently in Syria, without forgetting Sudan and Ukraine, and other neighboring countries may be drawn into it . “

Sako called on neighboring countries to “affirm humanitarian and national constants, fortify the arena from all sectarian strife and division, and work to calm things down, not escalate or pour oil on the fire,” adding that “these wars are also the responsibility of the international community, which is why the major countries must move quickly and honestly and play the role of mediator to find permanent solutions for these countries.”
