On Thursday, the Central Criminal Court in Iraq issued a death sentence against 5 drug dealers for the crime of drug trafficking .
The media center of the Iraqi Judicial Council stated in a statement that “the convicts were found in possession of 210 kilograms of the narcotic substance (amphetamine) with the intention of trading and selling it among users .”
The statement added, “The ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017 and in light of Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Penal Code.”
