Al-Omari said, during a press conference, “What is happening in Dhi Qar is a political coup against the central agreements, and Baghdad is the only one that has the right to move the agreement and terminate these agreements or not .”
He added, “The position of Dhi Qar Governorate Council goes to the Services Bloc,” adding, “I am the only candidate for it in Dhi Qar Governorate .”
Al-Omari continued: “We will begin taking all legal measures regarding the behavior of some council members in holding the council session inside the police headquarters building, which was a postponed session from the beginning, with the signature of a third of the council members .”
He concluded by saying, “Any decision to relieve me from the presidency of the Dhi Qar Governorate Council will be reflected in all other political agreements in the governorates.”
