Director of Nineveh Roads and Bridges, Radwan Al-Shahwani, announced the opening of the old bridge to traffic next week .
Al-Shahwani said that the old bridge will be opened next week, while work continues on it from below the bridge.
The old bridge that connects the two sides of Mosul was closed by the Nineveh Roads and Bridges Directorate due to the discovery of some damage to the bridge pillars, as the directorate began a wide-ranging maintenance operation for the bridge during the past period.
