The head of the Do Charity Association, Dr. Saad Allah Tawfiq, said that the Al-Aghwat Mosque on the right side of Mosul is one of the historical and important mosques in the city of Mosul.
Tawfiq continued that the age of the mosque is 350 years, and that the reconstruction process of the mosque has reached 90%, and that the association will work to complete the mosque’s minaret during the coming period, indicating that the reconstruction of the mosque is being carried out through donations from benefactors from the people of Mosul.
Meanwhile, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Al-Omari, who is supervising the reconstruction of the mosque, confirmed that the reconstruction of this mosque was one of the most complex engineering works compared to the rest of the mosques, given the use of the contract system in construction and the extent of the large damage to the mosque.
