The Ministry of Electricity revealed its intention to launch an initiative to sell energy systems to citizens in installments, in response to a government decision to introduce solar energy systems into homes .

The ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, said, “The Prime Minister continues his interest and keenness to follow up on the electricity file, and he is in direct contact with the ministry to carry out quick solutions and hold frequent meetings, the latest of which was the government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister and attended by the Minister of Electricity and a number of officials, and approved a plan to introduce the solar energy system to homes, through contracting with solid companies .”

He added, “There is a government decision to provide this experience to homes in order to reduce pressure on the system and to market some companies in the market by activating the Central Bank initiative, which includes granting small loans to citizens to purchase these solar systems according to specifications .”

He stressed that “this issue was carefully studied to activate the Central Bank’s initiative and the companies’ contribution to selling it in installments for the benefit of citizens,” noting that “the ministry will have a role in determining the technical specifications.”
