The Federal Supreme Court in Iraq has approved the passage of a proposal to amend the Personal Status Law, according to controls and conditions .

The court rejected the appeal filed by MP Nour Nafeh Ali during the session to include it for the first reading in Parliament .

The Federal Court stressed that the Constitution granted the Iraqi people the freedom to organize their personal status according to religion, sect, belief, or personal choices, and the exercise of that right may not be restricted or limited except based on a law that does not affect that .

The House of Representatives had completed its session yesterday, Monday, the report and discussion of the proposed law amending Personal Status Law No. ( 188) of 1959, Articles 2 and 10.
