Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein confirmed yesterday , Friday, that there are clear threats to Iraq from the Zionist entity, while he indicated that the Iraqi government does not want war and its policy focuses on removing it from the country .

In his speech during the Fifth Middle East Peace and Security Forum (MEPS 2024) held by the American University in Duhok, Hussein said, “The region is under fire and Iraq is part of the region and we are concerned about the situation,” noting that “there are clear threats from the Zionist entity .”

He pointed out that “the government has taken internal and external steps regarding the threats of the Zionist entity,” indicating that “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed the armed forces to take measures against those who launch attacks using Iraqi territory .”

He stressed that “the Iraqi government does not want war and its policy is to keep it away from the country,” adding that “the Iraqi government is continuing its contacts with many influential Western capitals to stop the attack on Iraq.”
