A security source reported on Tuesday the arrest of a former representative of Anbar Governorate.
The source explained that a security force executed an arrest warrant against former representative Abdullah Al-Kharbit and placed him in detention in one of the centers affiliated with the Green Zone.
The source indicated that an arrest warrant was issued against him in April 2023 according to Article 459 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
Article 459 of the Iraqi Penal Code states:
1 – Whoever gives a check in bad faith knowing that it does not have sufficient, existing, and disposable funds or recovers all or part of the funds after giving it to him so that the remainder does not cover its value or orders the drawee not to pay or has deliberately written or signed it in a way that prevents it from being cashed shall be punished with the same penalty.
2 – Whoever endorses a check to another or hands him a check payable to the bearer knowing that it does not have funds to cover its entire amount shall be punished with the same penalty.
3 – Anyone who forges a check or uses a stolen check while knowing that, shall be punished by temporary imprisonment and a fine equal to ten times the value of the forged or stolen check, provided that it is not less than three thousand dinars.
