Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said that what is happening in Syria directly affects the security of both Iraq and Iran .
In a press conference held with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in the capital Baghdad, Hussein stressed the “coordination of positions between the two countries .”
The Iraqi minister pointed out that “the security of the region cannot be achieved by military means alone,” stressing “the importance of the diplomatic role .”
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, “Our consultations with Iraq are ongoing, and the state of insecurity in Syria represents a threat to the security of all countries in the region .”
He added, “The terrorist groups have developed a plan to create chaos in the region with the support of America and the Zionist entity .”
The Iranian Foreign Minister pointed out that “the support of all countries in the region for the Syrian and Iraqi governments in fighting terrorism is necessary and vital.”
