Baghdad-Rusafa Police Command announced yesterday , Monday, the arrest of a school student who wrote extremist slogans inside a school in the Al-Zafaraniya area, southeast of the capital .
The command said in a statement: The Zaafaraniya Police Department received a report at 12:00 noon, stating that there were slogans written inside the “Al-Najah Preparatory School” for boys on the second floor of one of the classrooms, which included the phrase “There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God .”
The statement added that an integrated team was immediately formed from the Al-Zafaraniya Police Department and the Al-Zafaraniya Rescue Patrols, with the support of the holding force from the Federal Police .
He explained that the competent authorities were able to arrest the accused after investigation and gathering information, noting that he confessed during the investigation that he entered the school at night and wrote phrases on the walls of the classrooms .
The police command confirmed that it will continue to follow up on such cases to maintain the security and stability of educational institutions and ensure that they are not exploited for any illegal activities or slogans .
Baghdad Operations Command also announced the arrest of a person accused of writing extremist slogans glorifying the terrorist ISIS gangs inside a school in the Al-Zafaraniya area, southeast of the capital .
The command stated in a statement that after news circulated about writing phrases glorifying ISIS terrorist gangs inside a school in Al-Zafaraniya, a joint task force was immediately formed from the First Division of the Federal Police, in cooperation with intelligence agencies and services, and the team was able to arrest the perpetrator in record time, noting that “the details will be announced later .”
Baghdad Operations stressed its keenness to follow up on such issues carefully and take the necessary measures to ensure security and stability in all areas of the capital .
Yesterday morning , Monday, a security source reported that Phrases glorifying ISIS were spotted on the walls of a school in Al-Zafaraniya, southeast of Baghdad, which prompted the security services to quickly intervene by erasing the phrases and reviewing surveillance cameras for investigation .
This incident comes a week after the ISIS flag was raised on a school in Kirkuk, and a similar incident in Hawija that ended with the arrest of the perpetrators.
