The National Security Service announced Nine people accused of terrorism were arrested, while two stacks of equipment, highly explosive materials, and weapons were seized in different governorates .
A statement by the agency, read by Mosul Time Radio, stated, “By following up on the file of ISIS terrorist gangs and based on accurate intelligence information, the National Security Service detachments in Diyala Governorate were able to arrest an accused who was distributing bail among the families of the terrorist gangs. After obtaining judicial approvals, our agency was able to To overthrow the aforementioned target, whose movements were followed for more than a month and monitored during the operations of delivering sums to the families of terrorist gangs .”
He added, “In the governorates of (Basra, Kirkuk, Anbar, and Nineveh), our detachments were able to arrest (8) terrorism suspects against whom judicial arrest warrants were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism Law .”
He continued, “Our detachments were also able to seize two stacks of equipment belonging to ISIS criminal gangs, the first in the Yusufiya district, south of the capital, Baghdad, and the other in the Razaza desert in Anbar Governorate, where the total of what was seized was (1) kilogram of highly explosive TNT , and a number of launcher missiles.” (16) and (100) detonators, (17) grenades, and (3) kg of C4 explosive material, which were processed on site by the engineering effort .”
He pointed out that “the accused were referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law.”
