Yesterday , Sunday , the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, opened three factories in the governorates of Salah al-Din and Nineveh, while pointing out the importance of these factories in meeting local needs .
Ministry spokeswoman, Dhahi Al-Jubouri, said: “The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, during his visit to Salah Al-Din Governorate, opened the electrical transformer production plant with a capacity of 3,000 transformers annually with different capacities. He also opened the smart meter production plant with a capacity of 173,000 meters annually in the Salah Al-Din factory .”
She added: “The Minister of Industry also opened, via a television circuit, a thermal camera production plant with a capacity of 1,000 cameras annually, in addition to the opening of the Al-Kindi laboratories for engineering and scientific tests in the Al-Kindi factory in Nineveh Governorate, affiliated with the General Company for Communications and Power Equipment .”
The Minister confirmed in a press conference during his visit to Salah al-Din Governorate to open a number of factories “Salah al-Din is one of the governorates that has been damaged by terrorism, so the ministry has developed a plan to rehabilitate and operate factories .”
He added, “The transformer production plant will enhance the capabilities of the ministry, along with the companies of Diyala, Al-Zawraa, and the electrical and electronic industries, which all cover about 25% of the electricity sector’s needs .”
He explained that “the thermal camera factory in Nineveh will support the work of security institutions and agencies in particular, in addition to civilian uses, as these cameras cover long distances of up to 30 kilometers with high accuracy .”
He pointed out that “the smart meter factory operates on clean energy, and will contribute to determining citizens’ consumption and reducing waste in the use of electrical energy,” indicating that “the company faces challenges and we are working to overcome them to develop its production reality and improve its financial and technical performance in the future .”
