The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest and investigation of an employee following his request to raise the Iraqi flag in a classroom in Jordan .

A statement from the ministry stated, “Social media sites circulated a video clip of a member of the Ministry of Interior’s Border Forces Command requesting that the Iraqi flag be raised inside a classroom in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan .”

The statement added, “The Ministry would like to clarify that these courses are part of international assistance without charge. They are courses that contributed to developing the competence of border forces fighters and are held in Jordan. There is no requirement for the presence of an Iraqi flag inside the classroom as it is a Jordanian military and training institution, and the Iraqi flag is raised upon graduation.” The course also prohibits the entry of phones into the training institution, as the member entered his phone in a prohibited manner, violating the regulations and laws of this institution, and agreed with his colleague to film him while he was making his movement, and to send the clip to his brother to publish the video and achieve personal goals aimed at becoming famous on social media sites, in violation of the officer. The Iraqi responsible for him in the course, which caused embarrassment between the leadership of the border forces and the training institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, because of which important courses that were being held there were stopped .”

He continued, “As a result, the Ministry formed an investigation board against the above member and placed him in detention pending investigation.”
