Doctors and nurses from the United States and other countries have arrived in Nineveh Governorate, Iraq, to help residents of the old city of Mosul perform complex surgeries, especially those that require large sums of money.
According to the American website “Alhurra”, the volunteer team works within the “Your Health First” initiative supported by the US Agency for International Development, which aims to improve the public health situation in areas affected by the war on ISIS, provide medicines, and implement awareness campaigns for the residents of those areas.
The website quoted the American volunteer nurse, Lina, as saying, “The team is trying as much as possible to help the families by performing surgeries that they cannot afford.”
