The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli settlement expansion in the Syrian Golan, stressing that Iraq’s position is firm in restoring full sovereignty over Syrian lands .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said “We express our strong condemnation and denunciation of the decision of the Israeli entity’s government to expand its settlement policy in the occupied Syrian Golan, which represents a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions .”
The ministry affirmed “Iraq’s firm and supportive position on the rights of the Syrian Arab Republic to regain its full sovereignty over its territories, and stresses that the Golan is occupied Syrian territory, and that any measures aimed at changing its legal and demographic status are null and void .”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to “take a firm stance condemning the continued violations of the Israeli entity, and work seriously to protect the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory, and ensure the achievement of security and stability in the region.”
