The Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade in Iraq, Haider Nouri Al-Karawi, revealed A delegation of Russian companies discussed the possibility of manufacturing and supplying equipment and machinery for transporting wheat .
Al-Karawi said: “A meeting was held with a delegation of Russian companies, and during the meeting, Iraq was invited to attend the upcoming Expo .”
He added: “We presented our needs as a grain trading company to the Russian delegation. We requested wheat-specific machinery and equipment, and requested types of equipment to load wheat from the ground to the truck. We have wheat in the company’s warehouses and we need to load it from the warehouses to the trucks using a mechanical mechanism. We also requested the possibility of manufacturing machines for unloading from the ship to the trucks and from the trucks to the ship .”
Al-Karawi explained that “the Russian delegation confirmed that all of these mechanisms will be present during the exhibition, and everything the Iraqi company needs can be provided to Iraq .”
He pointed out that “the Russian delegation also discussed with the Iraqi General Company for Foodstuffs Trade the possibility of supplying cooking oil or crude oil to Iraq.” On September 10, Al-Karawi had expected that Iraq would import about 150,000 to 200,000 tons of wheat from Russia per month .
“We have extensive communication with Russian traders on this issue, and there will also be communication with the Russian government in the coming period,” he continued, adding: “There is extensive and open cooperation without interruption, and we expect in the coming months, after the zero flour is produced inside Iraq, that there will be much larger quantities, and it is possible that we will reach 150 or 200 thousand tons per month .”
The Director of the General Company for Grain Trade in Iraq, Haider Nouri Al-Karawi, concluded by saying, “The next few days will witness the arrival of 80 thousand tons of Russian wheat to Iraq via two ships that were recently contracted.”
