The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that Iraq tops the list of countries in terms of the number of universities ranked in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings .
The ministry said in a statement that “45 Iraqi universities achieved positive results in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024 for the best ranked universities in the Arab region .”
She added, “The results showed that 238 institutions from 16 countries competed according to the indicators distributed among the fields of (Teaching 31%) , (Research environment 31%) , (Outputs Research quality 24%) , (International outlook 8%) , and (Society 6%).”
She added, “The University of Baghdad has advanced twenty places compared to last year’s version to be in twentieth place, followed by the Universities of Technology, Al-Mustansiriya, Mosul, Al-Nahrain, Anbar, Babylon, Basra, Al-Maarif, Tikrit, Al-Iraqiya, Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Qadisiyah, Diyala, Karbala, the Islamic University, Al-Ain, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra, Dhi Qar, Warith Al-Anbiya, Wasit, Al-Isra, Al-Farahidi, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, Al-Muthanna, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University, the Central Technical University, the Northern Technical University, the Southern Technical University, Kirkuk, Maysan, and the universities of the Kurdistan Region .”
