Iraqi armed factions confirmed that they have chosen to enter into a confrontation with Israel if it invades southern Lebanon.
Iraqi factions have escalated their attacks against targets inside Israel and the occupied Golan Heights with missiles and drones.
In the last week, the factions launched about 20 attacks on targets they said were inside the Israeli entity and the occupied Syrian Golan, in response to the Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
In the context of the Israeli responses to the attacks of the Iraqi factions and in a threat that is the first of its kind, Israel threatened Iraq to do what is necessary to respond to the attacks coming from the armed factions.
Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said in press statements: “Israel is closely monitoring the threats coming from Iraq and is collecting information,” adding: Israel will do what is necessary regarding the attacks coming from Iraq.
