Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein issued a warning of a “fire that will consume the entire region,” while stressing that the upcoming “Baghdad Summit” will transform its contents into productive work .
The Iraqi Foreign Minister said that the continuation of the Israeli war in Gaza will turn it into a “fire that will consume the entire region,” explaining that “the continuation of the war and Israeli aggression will lead to great risks, and that expanding the scope of the war to other regions means threatening peace and security in the region and the entire world .”
He stressed the need for collective Arab action, communication with Western powers, and pushing forward with pressure on Israel to stop the war and limit its spread to other regions, noting that the upcoming Arab summit will witness many movements .
He stressed the need to convey the Iraqi point of view to the partners in the European Union, on the necessity of stopping the expansion of the war to other regions, which threatens security and peace in the entire Middle East .
Regarding preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit, which is scheduled to be hosted by Baghdad next May, Hussein said that the Iraqi government began preparing for the Arab Summit since the end of the “Bahrain Summit,” noting that all matters have been prepared for its convening .
He explained that Iraq communicated with the brothers in the Arab countries so that the Baghdad Summit would have “a content that witnesses the transformation of policies into productive work towards solidarity, joint work, development, and the preservation of security and peace in the region,” expressing his hope that the summit would achieve these goals .
He pointed out that he worked to hold bilateral meetings with his Arab counterparts to unify visions and emphasize the importance of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of stopping the attacks on the Palestinian people.
