The Iraqi judiciary directed the Communications and Media Commission to take legal action against the Samarra satellite channel due to its low-quality content .
The source said “The Karkh Court, which specializes in publishing and media cases, sent a notice to the Communications and Media Commission to take appropriate measures against Samarra Satellite Channel and the program presenter, Athir Al-Tamimi, in accordance with its powers stipulated in the Commission’s law .”
Earlier, a security source confirmed that the Iraqi judiciary had taken legal action against the so-called “Ali Al-Janoubi” on charges of indecent content .
The source said, “The Iraqi judiciary’s measures against Ali al-Janubi came after efforts by the Low Content Committee at the Ministry of Interior .”
Al-Janoubi, who presents himself as a folk poet, had sparked a wave of resentment after appearing on Samarra TV, in a poetry program, and talking about his entry into a “love” relationship with a young man, which sparked anger and mockery on social media platforms.
