On Monday, the Iraqi judiciary issued a summons for the resigned head of the Sovereignty Party, Khamis Al-Khanjar .
According to a judicial memorandum, it stated that “You are required to appear before this court within a period of 3 days from the date of notification, in order to investigate what was stated in the complaint filed against you by the legal representative of the Supreme National Commission for Accountability and Justice, regarding your insulting of a state institution in accordance with the provisions of Article (226 of the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, as amended).”
