Iraqi politician Khamis Al-Khanjar congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the success of their revolution and the control of the opposition forces over the capital Damascus and the fall of the rule of former President Bashar Al-Assad.
Al-Khanjar added in a press statement that the Syrian people have sacrificed their lives for freedom and dignity and have overthrown a criminal dictatorial rule and begun a new era. All countries, without exception, must respect their choices in determining their fate and supporting the return of stability, justice and human rights.
The statement added that what happened is the end of the era of criminal dictatorial rule in Syria; and the beginning of a new era from which we hope goodness and progress for the brotherly Syrian people.
The Syrians have written one of the greatest and noblest stories of struggle to achieve freedom, dignity and justice; and have sacrificed their lives for it over the course of 50 years.From here, we call on all countries, without exception, to respect the choices of the Syrian people in determining their fate and writing their future, and not to interfere in their affairs, and we hope for a good beginning for them towards a state that believes in citizenship and freedoms;
