Yesterday, Saturday , the Minister of Defense, Thabet Mohammed Saeed Al-Abbasi , accompanied by a high-level security delegation, arrived at the Western Nineveh Operations Sector in Sinjar, to review the security situation within the sector, and inspect the border strip between Iraq and Syria .
A statement by the Ministry of Defense stated: “The Minister of Defense, Thabet Mohammed Saeed Al-Abbasi, arrived at the Western Nineveh Operations Sector in Sinjar, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations, Joint Operations, and the Commander of the Land Forces .”
The statement added that “the visit came to review the security situation within the sector and inspect the border strip between Iraq and Syria.”
