The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi , announced yesterday, Tuesday, that the ministry intends to launch a plan to survey the victims of mines, war remnants, terrorist operations, and military errors in Nineveh Governorate, starting with the Mosul district .

Aamidi said in a statement by the ministry, “The Department of Mine Affairs intends to launch a plan to survey the victims of mines, war remnants, terrorist operations, and military errors in Nineveh Governorate, Mosul district specifically, on the fourth of next August, for a period of thirty consecutive days, with the aim of creating a robust database that will thus allow it to be shared with relevant institutional bodies.” The relationship allows providing the services required by these parties to our victims .”

The Department of Mine Affairs stated, according to the statement, that “the survey to be conducted will include all victims of mines, war remnants, terrorist operations, and military errors in Nineveh Governorate, Mosul district specifically, in its first stage, to include the rest of the governorate’s other districts and cities in the subsequent stages,” adding that “the category included is all Those whose injuries were recorded, whether civilian or military, after 2003 and up until 2024, for all categories and for both genders .”

She continued, “The initial registration location will be at the Al-Hadbaa Youth and Sports Forum in the Al-Muthanna neighborhood / near the Al-Muthanna swimming pool, where those included in the registration will be referred to the Mine Affairs Department office located in the Mohandiseen neighborhood near the Sultan Restaurant Hotel and opposite the Lamassu Restaurant .”

The department noted that “ the documents that must be brought for those included in this survey are the unified card/or civil status ID, the Iraqi nationality certificate, the residence card or housing endorsement, and the ration card, in addition to the medical report or the decision of the medical committee with the investigation papers related to the accident, as well as the death certificate or a copy.” A death record or proof of death regarding the deceased victim, with an emphasis on the importance of communicating via the toll-free number 182/ approved by all operating telephone networks for more information .”
