The Iraqi Security Ministerial Council said, last night , Wednesday, that the news circulated about using Iraqi territory as a starting point for carrying out attacks or responses to attacks are nothing but false pretexts and justifications intended to be a justification for attacking the country, its sovereignty and the sanctity of its territory .
This came during the chairmanship of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, of the periodic meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which the overall security situation in the country was discussed, the topics on the agenda were considered, and the necessary decisions and recommendations were taken regarding them.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of the government program, with regard to the security file, and a review of the achievements of all ministries and security departments, after two years of the government’s term, and ways to enhance strengths and immediately address challenges, with the continuation of the process of following up on security and intelligence work within the framework of unifying efforts, in order to achieve the set goals .
The Ministerial Council for National Security renewed Iraq’s firm position in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and condemning the crimes of genocide committed by the Zionist entity against them .
The Council stressed that Iraq’s supreme interests require working to keep its lands and airspace away from the war machine that the Zionist entity is trying to expand, based on its aggressive policies against the countries and peoples of the region.
