Dozens of women in Mosul on Sunday evening organized a protest against the Personal Status Law .

Mosul activist Saraa al-Dabbagh, one of the participants in the protest, said, “We are a group of Mosul women from all components. We came to the celebration square in Mosul to organize this protest against the amendment to the Personal Status Law .”

Al-Dabbagh added: “This law, which regulates the lives of women and families, and moving forward with the amendment violates women’s rights, deprives them of inheritance, and encourages their marriage at the age of nine. That is why we came out to denounce the passage of this law.”
