A security source in Nineveh Governorate reported yesterday, Tuesday, that a pharmacist assistant was killed by gunfire in front of his house in the Nimrud district, southeast of Mosul, and security forces arrested the perpetrator .

The source said, “A civilian working as a pharmacist’s assistant was killed last evening by shooting from a Kalashnikov rifle in front of his house in the village of Kani in the Nimrud district (southeast of Mosul),” noting that “the victim’s name is Mahmoud Fathi Al-Nuaimi, who works in the Fever Hospital in Mosul .”

The source explained, “The perpetrator has a friendly relationship with the victim, and the security forces were able to arrest him hours after the crime occurred and handed him over to the police to investigate the circumstances of the incident.”
