The Supreme Committee supervising the census in Nineveh Governorate announced yesterday , Saturday, the registration of displaced persons from the governorate within the census data for their original areas .
The general supervisor of the census in Nineveh, Maher Al-Sabhan, said, “The displaced people in the camps in Nineveh and outside of it will be registered within the data of their original regions,” indicating that “the Supreme Census Committee has included in its calculations the file of the displaced people residing in displacement camps outside of their governorates .”
Al-Subhan pointed out that “the census form for the displaced included identifying the current residential areas and the original residential areas from which they were displaced, in order to address the issue of the displaced in the general census process .”
Nineveh completed the second phase of the population census, which took place on the 20th and 21st of this month . The statistics staff also launched the third phase to follow up on detailed population data that determines their economic and living conditions .
The Supreme Committee for Population Census in Iraq is scheduled to announce the preliminary census results in the middle of this week .
