Nineveh Provincial Council member, Muhannad Najm Al-Jubouri, called on political forces, officials and representatives to stop interfering in the work of the Nineveh Provincial Education Directorate .
Al-Jubouri said, “Nineveh Education is exposed to great interference from political forces, representatives, and officials who have influence in Baghdad .”
He added, “These interventions have caused a decline in the real role and educational and pedagogical service provided by Nineveh Education,” indicating that the interventions included the upper echelons of education, reaching the directors of departments and divisions in the directorate .
Earlier, MP Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari confirmed the existence of interference from influential and political parties in the work of the governorate’s education, especially with regard to the distribution of school staff .
Al-Shammari stressed that the obedience of the Nineveh Education Director to the officials and influential people in the staffing file will not intercede for him and keep him in his position as he believes .
Sources in Nineveh had revealed interference from political and influential parties in the work of Nineveh Education for several weeks, without Nineveh Education or the Ministry of Education taking action to stop these interferences .
