The head of the Nineveh Future Bloc in the Nineveh Provincial Council, Mohammed Haris, confirmed the council’s intention to choose a Mosul personality for the position of Mosul District Mayor .
In a statement to the Mosul Talk program broadcast by Mosul Time Radio, Haris said that the Nineveh Future Bloc and the Nineveh Council confirm that the position of Mosul mayor is the share of the people of Mosul .
He explained that they support the position being held by one of the pure figures from Mosul, as the position is a political entitlement for them.
Mosul activists expressed their support for the provincial council’s move to assign the position of Mosul mayor to a person from Mosul .
Political activist Mohammed Abbas said in a statement to the Mosul Talk program broadcast by Mosul Time Radio that this approach would support political stability in Nineveh, stressing his rejection of the idea that the city of Mosul would not participate strongly in the elections and should be punished by not granting the position of Mosul mayor to a person from the city.
