The Nineveh Future Bloc confirmed its support for the presidency of the Nineveh Provincial Council, and activating the council’s supervisory and legislative role.
The bloc said in a statement following a meeting it held that it discussed developments in the political process and activating the role of the council in the oversight and legislative aspects.
The bloc members affirmed their full support for the Council Presidency, represented by the Council President and his Deputy, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and coordination to ensure the implementation of projects and programmes that serve the people of Nineveh Governorate and meet their aspirations.
For his part, the head of the Nineveh Future Bloc in the Nineveh Council, Mohammed Ahris, confirmed that boycotting the council sessions caused the investment file in the province to be suspended. Ahris said that the investment file was suspended as a result of political differences and the suspension of council sessions. He also revealed the existence of fictitious investment files as a result of the absence of oversight and the lack of management in the Investment Authority.
