Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil announced that the completion rate of the Ashur Hotel reconstruction project on the right side of Mosul has reached 80 percent .
Al-Dakhil said, “Work on the reconstruction of the Ashur Hotel, which bears the name of the ancient civilization in Nineveh, and which is located in the center of Mosul, is witnessing advanced stages thanks to the efforts of the party investing in the hotel .”
Al-Dakhil stressed that “Nineveh needs to activate the role of investment in the reconstruction of the rest of Mosul’s hotels, as is happening with the Ashur Hotel,” noting that “the work in the hotel includes expanding the hotel by adding 70 rooms to the previous rooms, and establishing a swimming pool, restaurants, a wedding hall, and other facilities .”
The main hotels in Mosul (Nineveh Oberoi, Mosul and Ashur) were destroyed during the military operations to retake the city from ISIS control, and the reconstruction of these hotels was delayed due to the absence of investment on the one hand, and due to legal problems related to previous contracts in investing in these hotels.
