Yesterday , Tuesday, the Mosul Misdemeanor Court issued a decision to imprison a number of employees on charges of breaching their job duties, in accordance with the provisions of Article 331 of the Iraqi Penal Code .
reported that among those convicted is Abu Bakr Kanaan Bashir Ibrahim Al-Jubouri, the husband of Samia Ghanem Al-Khabouri, a member of the Nineveh Provincial Council, along with other employees, who were sentenced to prison on charges related to dereliction of duty .
The source said, “Abu Bakr Kanaan was the former director of the Sunni Endowment in Nineveh and was sentenced, along with another employee, to six months in prison,” noting that “an employee who was responsible for the accounts of the Sunni Endowment during his tenure was sentenced by the judiciary to six months in prison with a suspended sentence .”
The source explained that the courts in Nineveh Governorate are continuing to address cases of administrative and financial corruption, with the aim of evaluating and developing performance within state institutions in the governorate.
