Nineveh Governorate MP Talib Al-Amari confirmed that the people of Mosul expressed their fear of the cannons that the central government handed over to the Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Maamari said that the people of Mosul in the disputed areas with the region are worried and are wondering why the Peshmerga were provided with these weapons that should have remained with the Iraqi armed forces since they are the ones charged with protecting Iraq’s borders.
Al-Maamari explained that the statements of one of the Kurdish representatives who indicated that these cannons would be used even against the central government if they entered the regions of the region, which raises fear among all Iraqis and Mosul residents in particular.
