The Director of the Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Hospital in Nineveh, Abdul Qader Salem, announced the arrival of special treatments for cancer patients to Nineveh after a ten-year hiatus .
Salem said in a statement to the “Hal Al-Nas” program broadcast by Mosul Time Radio that the treatments are radioactive iodine capsules given for thyroid gland injuries .
He explained that the treatments arrived in Nineveh after the lifting of the ban that was imposed on the province after ISIS occupied Mosul and after completing the requirements and procedures for the existence of a safe site where the capsules are used due to the destruction of the specialized hospital in the province after 2014.
