Brigadier General Hakam Daham Al-Habou, Assistant Director of Nineveh Nationality and Passports, recently published his first book, which is the first of its kind in Nineveh Governorate, entitled “Specialization in Nationality Issues and Means of Proving It… A Comparative Study.”

Al-Habou said in a statement that the book addressed several issues related to nationality, including how to obtain original and acquired nationality, lose and regain it, and the issues of dual nationality holders and stateless persons. It also addresses the problems they face.

Al-Habou explained that the book also talks about “the legal guarantees available to them, in addition to providing a modern view of Iraqi Nationality Law No. 26 of 2006, methods of proving nationality, and the validity of rulings issued in these matters.”

Regarding the date of the book’s release, Al-Habou said, “It is expected to be released at the Baghdad International Book Fair next February by the Academic Center for Publishing and Distribution .”
